Position Summary:
The Public Health Director leads Hillside’s public health programming and supervises graduate-level public health students. This position oversees curriculum development, student field placements, grant development, and policy initiatives. The Director reports to the Medical Director, builds partnerships with community and international organizations, and collaborates regularly with committees to guide strategic public health efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Development:
Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of public health programs aligned with local needs and global health standards
Develop and supervise field placements for MPH students
Guide the integration of public health programming into Hillside’s interdisciplinary services
Student Supervision:
Precept graduate public health students in field experiences
Foster experiential learning through curriculum design and innovation
Support student presentations, participate in monthly orientation, and provide feedback and mentorship throughout rotations
Community Engagement:
Build and maintain partnerships with local health authorities, NGOs, and international academic institutions
Represent Hillside in community health planning, public events, and capacity-building initiatives
Team Collaboration:
Coordinate with Hillside Directors on clinic-wide strategic planning, curriculum integration, and student programming
Participate in team meetings, interdisciplinary presentations, and staff development
Report on public health activities and outcomes to the Board of Directors
Program Development:
Lead or contribute to quality improvement and data tracking initiatives
Identify and pursue public health grant opportunities
Assist in strategic planning and policy development to expand Hillside’s community impact
Qualifications:
Required:
Master’s degree in Public Health
At least 2 years of experience in public health program management or academic curriculum development
Strong understanding of global health challenges and community-based health approaches
Experience supervising or mentoring graduate public health students
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Zoom
Fluency in English
Preferred:
Experience in interdisciplinary, team-based environments
Public speaking, grant writing, or academic presentation skills
Background in rural, underserved, or international health settings

Position Summary:
The Medical Director is a full-time position that reports directly to the Executive Director. This role carries the primary responsibility for overseeing patient care and the educational programs for Medical, Physician Assistant, Rehabilitation, and Nurse Practitioner students. The Medical Director collaborates closely with the Executive Director on all aspects of service provision, as well as clinical and educational programs. Additionally, the Medical Director fosters a supportive, professional, and collaborative leadership environment with all other Directors, volunteers, staff, and the committees.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Services & Oversight:
Provide clinical supervision and support to staff and students across Hillside’s primary care, mobile, and home health services
Ensure high-quality, comprehensive patient care in a rural and underserved setting
Support interdisciplinary teamwork among clinical staff, including therapists, nurses, and pharmacists
Student Education & Mentorship:
Supervise and precept medical, physician assistant, and nurse practitioner students during clinical rotations; participate in monthly orientation and provide feedback
Develop and support hands-on global health learning opportunities
Foster a professional, ethical learning environment for students and short-term volunteers
Leadership & Collaboration:
Serve as a member of the senior leadership team, reporting directly to the Executive Director
Collaborate with the Executive Director on service delivery, patient care protocols, and clinical policies
Maintain effective communication with fellow Directors, staff, volunteers, and the Board of Directors
Administration & Strategic Support:
Participate in planning, policy-making, and strategic decisions related to clinical and educational programming
Support quality improvement initiatives and supervise clinical support staff
Represent Hillside at health-related events and engage with local and international partners
Qualifications:
Required:
Licensed primary care physician, physician assistant, or nurse practioner in country of origin and eligible for licensure in Belize
Experience teaching or precepting medical, PA, or nurse practitioner students
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Drive, Gmail, and videoconferencing platforms
Fluency in English
Preferred:
Experience working in international, rural, or underserved health settings
Prior leadership and administrative experience
Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team
Strong skills in public speaking, supervision, and performance evaluation

Position Summary:
The Physical Therapist provides patient care through a community-based rehabilitation (CBR) model and supervises physical therapy students. The role includes clinical care, student education, and collaboration with community partners and local ministries.
The physical therapist position at Hillside Clinic is a full-time role that reports to the Rehabilitation Director. The primary responsibility of the physical therapist is to provide patient care within a community-based rehabilitation model while also supervising students. Daily activities include delivering direct patient care in the clinic or at patients' homes, traveling to remote villages, and collaborating with various community organizations to promote public health awareness. This role involves close collaboration with the Hillside Directors and Volunteer Physical Therapists regarding all aspects of service provision, as well as clinical and educational programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Care:
Deliver PT services in the clinic, homes, and remote villages
Evaluate and implement treatment plans for homebound patients
Coordinate with pharmacy staff for medication education and support
Maintain rehab inventory and update protocols and procedures
Student Supervision:
Precept international DPT/physio students and oversee all rotation activities
Lead CBR curriculum components and interdisciplinary sessions
Assess student performance (e.g., CPI) and support visiting preceptors
Participate in monthly orientation and provide feedback
Community Outreach:
Partner with MOH and MOE on rehab standards and disability awareness
Work with CHWs to address rehab needs during mobile clinics
Organize and participate in community education events and health fairs
Team Collaboration:
Coordinate schedules and programming with Hillside directors and staff
Attend meetings, joint clinical rounds, and interdisciplinary planning sessions
Contribute to clinic policy development and team training
Program Development:
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, data tracking, and reporting
Provide input on strategic plans and resource needs to the Rehab Director
Support recruitment and training of short-term volunteers and successors
Represent Hillside to external partners and academic institutions
Qualifications:
Required:
Graduate of an accredited physical therapy/physiotherapy program
Licensed and in good standing in home country
At least 2 years of clinical experience
Willingness to learn and apply the Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR) model
Experience supervising or precepting graduate-level PT/physio students
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Drive/Docs, Zoom
Fluency in English
Preferred:
Ability to practice in a diverse generalist setting
Experience in interdisciplinary and team-based care
Background in rural and/or underserved healthcare environments
Strong written, verbal, and electronic communication skills in English
Effective public speaking and presentation skills
